Read this first!

This is really embarrassing, but I have a few disclaimers:

First of all, I am really sorry about the sideways photos, when you read the next post you'll understand there has been some difficulty posting anything at all. It turns out my hard drive is full and that's why I can't download any more new photos from my camera and why these are sideways because my Stupid Computer apparently doesn't even have enough memory to let me resave these photos oriented correctly- hmph! So it was sideways or nuthin'...

Secondly, those who know me well will understand how much it annoys me that I spelled "months" as "monts" in the title of the following post. If I could undo it, I would; but I can't, so let's never speak of it again. That also goes for any typos I haven't caught yet.

Lots of love and although I hate to say it, it's looking like it might be while before we get any more photos posted. It is a terrible shame that I should be so rich in cuteness this time of year when so many people have so little...I'll remember that when I feel especially broke! So much love to everyone! Sarah

Holy Cow! The girls are 10 monts old!

First of all, because I know ya'll will be disappointed to see that there are no new pictures, let me say that it is beyond my control! We are currently having some technical difficulties with our computer -it says it cannot read the files we are trying to download from the digital camera. And of course, if we can't get the pictures into our computer we can't get them onto the blog. My dear relatives in Kansas, whom I have never even met were kind enough to send card expressing their thanks for the very existence of the blog and it just breaks my heart to post this with no new pictures! We will keep working on it - rest assured! I think I will post some old but unseen photos just to tide everyone over...

In other news, the girls are 10 months old today. Some of their more amazing feats include:

Sleeping through the night! (12 hours! 6:30pm to 6:30am)!!! I am starting to feel like myself again! It's the best thing ever! We have pretty steady routine now - it goes something like this: Wake up: 6-6:30 am - Eat: 6:30-7:15 am - Play 7:15-8:30am - Eat 8:30-9 am - Nap 9:30-11am - High chairs 11-11:30 am - Bottles 11:30-noon - Play noon-1:45pm - Eat 1:45 -2:15pm - Walk/Nap 2:15 - 3:30pm - High chairs 3:30-4pm - Play 4-5pm - Bottles 5-5:30 pm - Wind Down/Play 5:30-6:30 - Bed 6:30 That's it, roughly. Also, I should not neglect the fact that we read Goodnight Moon every night before bed...

Eating all sorts of stuff! Some things they like include peas, apples, apricots, bananas, brown rice cereal, yogurt, beets, plums, carrots, spinach, potatoes, yams and blueberries. Some things they do not care for include butternut squash (too grainy, I think) and raspberries (too sour, I think).

Standing up! They love to stand up now! They can stand up with only our fingers for stability - and Ruthie loves to bounce up onto her toes. Lucy and Ida sort of lock their knees, but this whole standing thing has only happened this week, so I expect them to get their technique down pretty soon. They especially like to stand next to their seated sisters and pat them on the top of the head. (I'm not kidding they all do it...emphatically).

Working on crawling! Right now they seem to KNOW what to do to crawl and they definitely seem to grasp what it would mean to be mobile, but they can't seem to get up on their knees. They do this neat thing where they go from sitting and reach way out in front of themselves so that they are on their hands and knees but their legs are still folded under them. From this position, they usually rock back onto their bottoms, but if they get stuck they straighten their lets out behind them but then they don't seem to have the inner-thigh muscles to hold their legs together and they collapse onto their tummies. Their working on it though...and it's really cute when they lie there on their tummies and they stretch out their legs and grunt and you can practically see them willing themselves to get where they want to go.

Growth-wise I would guess they are between 15 and 17 pounds and probably 25-27 inches long. Jason points out that they have small heads, but as our sweet nurse told us, that was "just Mother Nature's way of preparing them to be triplets."

Okay, now it's almost my bedtime and I really do want to get some pictures up, even if they are circa Summer 2005. Much love to all, be good to yourselves and each other this season. xoxo
